Project cost: £5000
Neurocare has funded a counselling room for the Neuro Intensive Care ward of Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital. This is a quiet, private room where staff can discuss a patients’ treatment options with their family and friends, or even break bad news to loved ones.
Neurocare funded a similar room this autumn on the newly refurbished K floor, which has already been a great comfort to many families whose loved one is being treated in Neuro Critical Care. Previously, there was no such facility which often resulted in staff having to talk to patients and their families in public places like the lift lobby.
Neurocare hopes that this facility will make peoples experience of the Neuroscience wards just a little bit more bearable.
