Walk for Wards 2020
September 1 @ 8:00 am - September 30 @ 11:30 pm
Walk for Wards is going virtual for 2020!
We’re excited to announce that you, our lovely Neurocare supporters, can take part in our partner charity’s Walk for Wards virtual event this September!
Walk for Wards is one of Sheffield Hospitals Charity’s biggest annual fundraising events, raising an average of over £15,000 a year to support local patients and staff across Sheffield hospitals. But just because the physical event can’t happen this year, it doesn’t mean you can’t get your walking shoes on and make a difference to neuroscience departments in Sheffield.
All you have to do is take on a walk of any distance during September to make a difference.
Four easy steps to join Walk for Wards:
- Register using the form here – Please state that you would like to take part for Neurocare.
- Set your fundraising target. £15 is the minimum sponsorship you should go for but there is no maximum! The more you raise, the more we can do to help patients and staff.
- Set up your fundraising page. We recommend JustGiving
- Set your distance and get walking! Walk 5K, 10K or any distance you like.
Why you should Walk for Wards
When you take part you’ll be making a difference to patients with head injuries, brain tumours and other complex neurological conditions across Sheffield hospitals. During the COVID-19 pandemic, NHS staff have been working harder than ever to make sure the people of Sheffield are cared for. By walking and fundraising, you’ll be supporting these patients and staff members when they need it the most.
Where can I walk?
What’s great about a virtual walk is that you can take part anywhere you like! We’re so lucky to have some of the most picturesque walks right on our doorstep in Sheffield. Whether you enjoy a walk taking in the landscapes of the Peak District or prefer the bustle of a city walk, there’s a route for everyone. We’ve suggested a few routes in our fundraising pack that we’ll send you when you sign up!
