This #FundraiserFriday we’re saying THANK YOU to Alison Atkinson for completing an incredible 40 runs in 40 days, AND running the Virtual Great North Run this Sunday to support neurological patients in Sheffield.
Alison wanted to fundraise to say thank you to the neurology team at Sheffield hospitals for saving her son Lewis’s life two years ago. Now 28, Lewis had lifesaving treatment after having fluid on his brain.
Alison said, “The staff were truly amazing all the way through to my son and I, and explained everything that was happening. My son still has challenges but he is here with us, he is back at work and I will continue to support Neurocare in any way I can.
“We consider ourselves to be very lucky and if we can help to support Neurocare with treatment, equipment, anything that will help another person in the way we were, then we will keep on raising money.”
It’s September and that can only mean one thing… Walk for Wards is here!
We can’t wait to see what our walkers have planned this year – remember to send us your images and stories and tag us on social media! You could also be in with a chance of the photos from your walk being included in a special 2021 calendar by our friends at Volta Creative
Like most things this year, Walk for Wards this September is a little different to our usual sponsored walk, but the cause still remains the same – making a difference to neurology patients and the staff that care for them.
We’re asking you to take on a sponsored walk whenever and wherever you like during September! 🚶🚶♀️
