Ellas Fund
WELL-wishers have donated more than £16,000 to Neurocare
WELL-wishers have donated more than £16,000 in support of a four-year-old Sheffield girl with an incurable brain tumour.
Little Ella Frith was diagnosed with a growth in the centre of her brain last February after she suffered a series of seizures.
The brave youngster had surgery at Sheffield Children's Hospital to remove 80 per cent of the tumour, followed by sessions of radio and chemotherapy. But disaster struck in September when doctors told her parents Joanne Wilson, aged 38, and self-employed builder Rob Frith, 43, that the tumour had started to grow again.
And, because of its position, they said it could be fatal to operate and her condition was terminal.
Despite their shattering news the couple were determined to do something positive to help others. They set up Ella's Fund and, to the family's amazement, it has raised £16,000 for Neurocare.
Joanne said: "It is absolutely astonishing the generosity not only of friends and family but also many people we do not know. We want to thank them all for their support."
